Around 20 plus years ago I purchased a cute homely cottage in the gorgeous hills area of Melbourne in the amazing Dandenong Ranges area with the iconic Puffing Billy close by.
I made some cosmetic changes to the property over time, I put in a corner spa, new shower, toilet, new paint, a custom window with stain glass panels which really suited the cottage look. I definitely had a flair for my creations, I had a vision which not all can see.
I then sold this property and made an amazing profit! Light bulb moment or aha moment! “This is fun, I have flair. I can do this!”
This little gem of a property had made my decisions to embark on a property journey, as essentially I was not quite living the lifestyle I liked and I knew I could do much more in the property sector.
I had seen and heard what others were doing in property and doing well. I then went out and purchased a property with the intention to renovate to add great value also with the future potential of a subdivision development into two lucrative blocks and with building of a deck with views to the hills by replacing the old large dining area window with french doors was the WOW factor! What eventuated was an amazing financial reward for myself and a realisation that I had exceptional vision to see the potential in every property I tackled.
My natural creative flare resulted in myself being able to bring together concepts, colours and designs that not only worked well but looked fabulous and functioned well too.
I recall boarding a flight to Sydney heading to a 3 day property education seminar I got chatting to a lovely lady, Jane who sat down next to me on the flight. It went super fast as we were chatting away about property.
In conversation Jane mentioned she had a property she could not sell for the price she needed as she owed more on the mortgage than what it was worth. She had been trying to sell it for a few years, she admitted it did need lots of tender, loving, care AKA cosmetic renovation! She asked me if I had a business card and she then realised that’s what we specialised in. Two days later she called me, asking if we could please help her out as she was desperate! I then went out to view her property. We had an initial meeting as we discovered she lived not that far. She engaged us to look after everything for her. Not only did we work magic on the cosmetic renovation and a massive outside clean up, it also managed to sell for the amount she needed to get her in a much better debt free position. She is now focused on her other property in Tasmania. What a great win win for all!
